There is only one thing in common in Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather - Money. The attention and controversy these two fighters have is much beyond my expectation. Floyd Mayweather's plan on Manny Pacquiao to take the Olympic Style drug testing, and that Pacquiao refuses to take it because of physical issues when it comes to the ring. But we've heard enough of the drug testing issue, let's talk about the other side of many sides in this Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight. The splitting of the money is very crucial for both camps, both want to have the bigger share of the meat. It seems to be a financial issue for this Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight to break or to happen.
Let's analyze and observe if who of both fighters must have a bigger share. Let's compare if who also has the higher revenue generating fighter. A difference of even at least 1 percent can mean something, if the expected revenue can go up to $60 million then its around $600k for just 1%.
If we compare the number of PPV viewers from Mayweather to Pacquiao, undoubtedly Mayweather Jr. can generate more money than Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather has his numbers on PPV however its not really an accurate source. While Pacquiao in his last fight didnt get much attention since he was fighting a bit boring fight and didnt really pleased the fans.
As expected, Mayweather wants the bigger share of the purse but this can only happen and generate a great revenue only if he fights Pacquiao. On the other hand, Pacquiao wants a 50-50 split but it can never be denied that Mayweather will use this as an excuse of the bigger share to avoid another fight with Pacquiao. Although negotiations are already on the process, it may take some time before both camps can agree and decide on a Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight.

It is amazing how everyone is making it seema as if Mayweather is wrong for his demands, but you didn't find it absurd that Pac's camp was asking for 10 mil, per pd over the weight limit.(Pac's concern was safety)
ReplyDeleteBut when Floyd counters about the rug testing(safety) he is looked upon as a pariah.
THis is more media BS.
YOu all Black-balled Barry Bonds and killed his career, putting and atterisk by everything that he accomplished-he's never been caught either, yet you have given Pacqioua, AROD and a host of others a pass.
Complete racism and media biasness.
Furthermore read the article and you will se that Arum stsated that it was PAc's camp who is putting the fight in jepeordy!!!!!
